Originally created for the French company Tolix in 1954 by the designer Xavier Pauchard, the furniture line made of a buckled sheet is now a legendary design classic. The Tolix range was first supplied to bars and restaurants by breweries, in exchange for selling their beer. Whilst the arrangement came to an end in 1970, the desire and demand for these chairs and stools did not, and the design was formally reissued in 1986. An exhibition to celebrate their variety and longevity was held at the Centre Pompidou in 2008. Our products are reproduced to the style of the original design.
